To increase the
possibilities for cooperation between youth organisations in Sweden and
Turkey and to increase awareness in the organisations about gender
equality issues “Youth and Gender Equality” exchange was
organized by Kvinnoforum (Women Forum) and Youth Association for Habitat
and Agenda 21 at Consulate of Sweden in Istanbul.
5 Swedish organizations
working on youth and women, Sweden National Board and Swedish Institute
and youth representatives of the LA21 National Youth Parliament from the
provinces of Adana, Bartın, Batman, Bingöl, Isparta, İstanbul, Kars,
Malatya ve Samsun participated in this seminar.
Following the welcoming
speaches of Swedish Consulate Ingmar Carlsson, Ayşe Mutlu Güler from
Kvinnoforum and Interational Relations Coordinator Pelin Ayan from Youth
Association for Habitat and Agenda 21 presentations were made and at
various working groups participants shared experiences and developed
projects.
